Tainan Campus Needs the Support from Alumni and Faculty

Regain the Founding Spirit of NCTU!~~We Must Cooperate to Fulfill the Dream ~~

   Half a century ago, due to the insistence of National Chiao Tung University alumni, NCTU was reestablished at Boai (博愛校區), a merely 3-hectare campus beside Eighteen Peaks Mountain (十八尖山).
   During the past fifty years, thanks to the insistence of the faculty and alumni, NCTU has bred numerous talents for the high-tech industry. The industry-university cooperation breeds the miracle of Hsinchu Science Park, putting the high-tech industry of Taiwan in global spotlight.
   Recently, the Tainan campus has been established near the Tainan Station of Taiwan High Speed Rail. The first College of Photonics in Taiwan will start recruiting students this year. The Tainan campus is the first extension of a national university to be founded in Taiwan. It is bound to light up another glamorous fifty years for NCTU.
   The Tainan County Government had budgeted NTD 212,000,000 and is levying an 8.2-hectarec land for the Tainan campus. CMO and Chi Mei Corporation have donated the Teaching and Research Building (NTD 440,000,000). Donations from alumni and the society are composing a moving story.
   However, it takes great efforts to establish a new campus. In the coming three years, NTD 150,000,000 is needed for building up teaching and research facilities. We expect alumni to express their gratitude to NCTU by joining the “One Man, One Tree” Periodical Transfer Fundraising Project
